Service for Sunday, July 3

Summer Schedule Continues

9:00 a.m Holy Eucharist, led by Fr. James Swarthout

NOTE: Our Summer schedule of

ONE 9:00 a.m. Sunday service will continue through

September 4 (Labor Day Weekend.)

Thank You is Just Not Enough

To my St. Mary’s family:

Words cannot begin to express my gratitude for the amazing retirement brunch that was held for me last Sunday. From the delicious food, to the very, very generous gifts, and the fellowship of parishioners – it was wonderful, and so very much appreciated.  To Tracy and Mike Higgins, who coordinated the event; to all who provided the tasty brunch fare and desserts; to all who contributed to the very unexpected gifts; and to all who attended to share in this special day – thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!

I started working in the office part-time 19 years ago, as a way to earn some extra money as my first child was getting ready for college, never imagining the path I had set myself on.   Over the years it has become so much more than just a “job” in the office.  I’ve always viewed myself as the “support person” – what can I do to make things easier for all those around me – the Rector, Vestry, various committees and ministries, and parishioners.  At the same time, I have also always had total support of the parish, especially during times of transition. And parishioners have always stepped up to fill in during vacations, times of illness, and times when the workload became too much for one person (can you say Christmas? Holy Week?)   Many thanks to all those helpers – if I start to list names, I will surely forget someone.

The bottom line: I have become so ingrained in the fabric of St. Mary’s, that it has become very clear in these past months how hard it is going to be to step away. But it will be gradual, as I will continue to work with Lisa as she transitions into the position.  And, Rick and I will be around for another year, before retiring back to Wisconsin in 2023.

Thank you again - it has been a privilege to work all these years with, and for, my family at St. Mary’s.

Peace, love and many blessings,

Amy
