Please prayerfully consider donating blood at the community blood drive sponsored by St. Mary’s, in partnership with Versiti Blood Bank of Illinois, on Sunday June 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Great Hall. There is a blood shortage across the state of Illinois and Versiti has asked us to partner with them to help replenish the blood supply here in McHenry County. You may click on the link provided in this newsletter and sign up for an appointment.
This weekend I am away and Deacon Mike is available for pastoral care emergencies. In addition, Mike will be leading Morning Prayer at 8:00 a.m. Pre-consecrated communion will also be made available as part of the service. The Rev. Judith Doran will be preaching and celebrating at the 10:30 a.m. service. Coffee Hour will be held in the Great Hall following both services. This Sunday you may also join us on Zoom at 9:00 a.m. for Morning Prayer. Please note that Morning Prayer on Zoom will be offered through June and then we will take a much needed Zoom break until September. Deacon Mike and I will be exploring what type of service to bring back on Zoom in the Fall, as well as looking at the times and days that the Zoom services are offered. More information about that will come in late summer.
As all of you know, the State of Illinois is about to lift many COVID restrictions over this weekend. The Governor has stated that he plans to bring us to Phase 5, which is basically a return to our normal way of functioning. The state mandate also gives churches, businesses and organizations the option of keeping some restrictions in place, based on their needs. We must await the word from the Diocese of Chicago on how they would like us to proceed; this will likely come on June 16. For now we will continue to stay the course using masks, keeping distanced, and keeping the limit on the number of people who can attend meetings, events and services.

The pantry is not able to buy paper goods through the food bank, and clients are not able to use their SNAP benefits to purchase any paper goods such as toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towels, and napkins. Bring them to the church any time, and your Board members will get them over to the pantry.
