This Sunday please welcome the Rev. Jane Clark. She will be our supply priest at both the 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. services. Some of you may remember Jane as she has been here before. Jane is the former rector of St. Andrews in Grayslake, and is now retired and doing supply work in the Diocese of Chicago. Mike Choquette will be leading Morning Prayer on Zoom at 9:00 a.m. and a virtual coffee hour will follow. I will be off this weekend, returning to the office on Tuesday. If you should have a pastoral care concern or emergency please contact Amy in the office, or one of the Co-Wardens Mike Higgins or Steve Brooks.
Mike Choquette and I are trying to reach out to all of our parishioners who feel that they cannot attend church at this time. We are happy to bring home communion to your door. We can drop this off on Sunday or another time during the week. In some cases people have made arrangements to pick up communion and take it home, which is also an option. We are using a pre-sealed communion cup with bread and wine, or gluten free bread and juice. Please note that this is what we are consecrating and using at our Sunday morning services. You may email me or call the office if you wish home communion.
Congratulations to Andy Wasilk who received his senior cross at our 10:30 a.m. service last Sunday. It is our tradition to award the cross to seniors who have served as acolytes, and those youth who have been involved in our Sunday worship as ushers, and/or lectors. Andy graduated this past June and is going to the University of Wisconsin-Stout this fall to study food science. He has been a wonderful, dedicated acolyte and we wish him well. We will also be awarding Michael Mauger his senior cross later this summer. We have been very blessed to have many wonderful youth involved with worship at St. Mary’s.
