The City of Crystal Lake is all abuzz about the new partnership between St. Mary’s and The Raue Performing Arts Center! The Raue is now selling tickets to “The Raue Center Arts on the Green at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.” Saturday night July 24 at 7:00 p.m. is opening night, so mark your calendars! You may go to the link below and see a full schedule of Saturday evening performance and purchase tickets. Bring family, friends and neighbors. Grab your lawn chair and enjoy wonderful music and plays right here on the lawn of St. Mary’s.
I would like to thank Deacon Mike Choquette for his vision to use our campus and buildings as a way to reach out to the wider community, and to support not-for-profits whose values we share. Mike has been busy putting together space use agreements and working closely with the Raue to make sure we are apprised of all the details. The Raue has been truly amazing as they are the ones doing the heavy lifting, and taking care of all the details according to a City of Crystal Lake approved plan. The week of July 19th they will be constructing a platform stage in the old playground area outside the church wing doors. It is exciting to see things begin to take shape. It is truly a wonderful partnership and a great use of our beautiful campus. Again, thank you Deacon Mike for your wonderful leadership and work on this project.
This Sunday please join us for our 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. church services followed by Coffee Hour. I am out of the office until Saturday, July 17. Deacon Mike is available for any pastoral care needs or emergencies that may arise.
Our exciting summer partnership with the Raue begins Saturday, July 24,
with a performance by Blues and Jazz diva, Lynne Jordan, at 7:00 p.m.
We are happy to announce that now that COVID restrictions have been lifted we can resume our normal coffee hour routines! Several of you who have previously been hosts have expressed an interest in hosting again. We are reaching out to you, and to others who may be interested in this ministry.
Hosts are responsible for setting up coffee, providing a snack, which can be as simple as a coffee cake (supplies and other snacks will always be provided by the church, and cleaning up. Newcomers will be given instructions and help the first time. Opportunities are available for both Sunday services.
Weekly coffee hours are opportunities for us to enjoy fellowship and provide a welcoming place for newcomers. They exist because of the generosity of those who consider this their particular ministry. If you are interested please contact the church office, or send an email to Eileen Flynn, who will be putting together a schedule for the next few months. Thank you for your consideration!

Paper Please: Donations of paper goods are greatly needed at the Crystal Lake Food Pantry. The pantry is not able to buy paper goods through the food bank, and clients are not able to use their SNAP benefits to purchase any paper goods such as toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towels, and napkins. Bring them to the church any time, and your Board members will get them over to the pantry. Paper goods are items that are lightweight, easy to carry and low cost that can be donated and will be appreciated by the clients. Thanks!!
