Residents can enjoy live music, inflatable rides, food trucks, and fireworks at 7:00 PM at the Town of Cortlandt Youth & Recreation Center, located at 3 Memorial Drive, Croton. The festivities begin at 2:00 PM!

Town Hall Offices Closed for the Holiday

In addition to observing Columbus Day, President Biden has also proclaimed that the second Monday of October as Indigenous Peoples' Day, to honor the cultures and histories of the Native American people.


In observance of these holidays, all Town Offices will be closed on Monday, October 9, 2023.

Mobile Shredder: Thursday, 10/12 at 9:30am

Who's ready to shred? The Mobile Shredder will be coming to Cortlandt Town Hall on Thursday, October 12 from 9:30am-12:00pm!


Residents can bring up to four file-sized (10”x12”x15”) boxes of confidential papers per household. Remove all large binder clips and covers. Papers from businesses, institutions or commercial enterprises are not acceptable and will be rejected, as will any junk mail or newspapers.

Check out the Hobgoblin Parade video happening on Saturday, October 28 at 1:00PM at our Cortlandt Youth & Recreation Center! Veterans Day Essay Contest

What does Veterans Day mean to you? The Town of Cortlandt Government is asking students to submit an essay on the meaning of Veterans Day. Students must be in grades 5-12 and attend a school district in the Town of Cortlandt. The selected student will be invited to the Veterans Day Ceremony to read their essay. All submissions must be 200 words or less and received by Wednesday, November 1.

The Veterans Day Ceremony will be on Friday, November 10th at 11:00am at the Muriel H. Morabito Community Center.

Community SWAP

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! This year, our community swap was full of toys, board games, sporting goods, arts and crafts, CD’s, books, housewares and more! Lots of these items found new homes. A special thanks to our Green Team for organizing this recycling event for our community and to Supervisor Dr. Richard Becker and members of the Town Board for supporting this event!

National Coffee Day with a Cop Day

October 4th was National Coffee with a Cop Day! Here are some photos from today’s event at Cortlandt Town Hall. A special thanks to the New York State Police and Westchester County Police Department for building relationships one cup at a time!

Line Dance Class at the Community Center

Come dance with us! Community Center offers line dance class on Mondays at 10:30am (the center is closed Monday, October 9)! To be eligible to participate in any of the following programs and services, you must be a Town of Cortlandt resident and be at least 60+ years of age. Pickleball

Here's team Double Trouble! Paul Pacchiana and Nancy Del Monte, both Cortlandt residents, won gold medals at the indoor pickleball tournament at the East Coast Sports & Fitness on September 23rd. A team photo was taken at their favorite park and home away from home for many in this community, the Charles G. DiGiacomo Recreation Area Park. Congratulations to team Double Trouble on a game well played!

Encounters with wildlife have become more numerous as a result of urban growth into an animal's natural habitat. Seeing an animal in the woods can be fun, but having a skunk under the porch or a woodchuck digging up your yard, is not. Information on the following pages are intended to help landowners find out how to prevent and control negative encounters with wildlife.

Spotted Lanternfly

The best way to control spotted lanternfly is to prevent its spread. Learn to identify it and to report it right away. Always inspect outdoor items such as firewood, vehicles, and furniture for egg masses. If you visit states with Spotted Lanternfly, be sure to check all equipment and gear before leaving and scrape off any egg masses. If you believe you have found Spotted laternfly, take photos (including something for scale, such as a coin, or ruler) and send an e-mail to spottedlanternfly@agriculture.ny.gov.

Storytime Yoga

Toddler yoga with certified yoga instructor Lindsay Fletcher! Come explore the benefits of yoga right alongside your little one. After a quick warm up, we will read books and act it out in yoga poses. This class is designed to promote early literacy combined with movement.

This class is perfect for kids ages 6 weeks to 5 years old with a caregiver, but all are welcome.
