Government Updates
Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant Open
Eligible small- and medium-sized businesses, co-ops and non-profits can apply for funding so they can open their doors and get Albertans back to wo rk.
·         Eligible job creators can apply for up to $5,000 through this program
·        Must have 500 or fewer employees

Alberta corporate tax rate cut
Alberta’s corporate tax rate has dropped to eight per cent, making it by far the lowest rate in Canada and among the most competitive in North America .

More Albertans can attend outdoor community events
The outdoor gathering limit has been increased from 100 to 200 people . The increase applies to attendees at community outdoor events such as festivals, fireworks displays, rodeos and sporting events, and outdoor performances.

CECRA for small businesses extended by one month
  • Only those tenants approved in the April, May & June application are eligible for the July extension.
  • If a business had an average revenue decline of 70% or more in April, May and June, they are deemed eligible for the additional month of rent relief. However, not all tenants in the original application need to be included for the July extension. Visit the updated program page to get the latest details.

Canada Extends Mandatory Requirements Under the Quarantine Act for Anyone Entering Canada
The Government of Canada extended the Emergency Order requirements related to mandatory isolation and quarantine until August 31, 2020, for travellers entering Canada.
