Chamber Welcomes New Board Members at 2020 AGM
The DDCC held their AGM virtually on July 15. Newly elected to the board were:
  • Deana Hannem, Dinosaur Valley Massage & Wellness
  • Lisa Hansen-Zacharuk, Western Financial Group - Drumheller
  • Martina Morrison, Riverside Value Drug Mart
  • Bob Sheddy, The Drumheller Mail
The following were also re-elected for additional terms:

  • Cindy Clark, Canalta Jurassic Inn

Government Program Updates & News

If you have previously been approved, you automatically qualify and no additional documents are required, but you must log into the portal and opt-in for your affected tenants. If you haven’t yet applied for CECRA for small businesses, you can apply for July as part of your entire application. 

Reminder- Eligibility for the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) has been expanded.
As of June 26, 2020, businesses eligible for CEBA now include owner-operated small businesses that do not have a payroll, sole proprietors receiving business income directly, as well as family-owned corporations remunerating in the form of dividends rather than payroll.

Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) Question & Answer Sessions
With the extension of the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) until December, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will host interactive question and answer sessions for eligible employers on the CEWS. These sessions will respond to general questions about the CEWS and provide resources needed to apply. See session dates and further details .

Under the “Safe Restart Agreement” to help provinces fund things like child care, contact tracing and personal protective equipment. There is also money to bail out municipal governments that saw soaring expenses and plunging revenues during the pandemic.
