Barnabas Ministry

Faith Geer Memorial Eyeglasses Program
On September 8, St. Paul’s hosted a presentation on the Faith Geer Eyeglass program which is one of the many programs sponsored by The Nyadire Connection. We had an amazing enthusiastic group of people attend.

Don Ziegler gave a moving presentation explaining the impact that the program has on the people of Nyadire. So many people have had their lives greatly improved, opening them to new opportunities for education, training and work that would have never been possible without the assistance of corrective lens.

Marie Hunt instructed us in proper sorting and cleaning of the donated eyeglasses.
We are also making plans for a Lens Meter to be used at St. Paul’s. This is the next step in preparing the eyeglasses to be sent to Nyadire. The prescription of each pair of eyeglasses is read and recorded, and then the eyeglasses are boxed to send to clinics in Nyadire.

Donated eyeglasses can be placed in the bins labeled Mission Vision in the outer vestibule or in the Welcome Center at St. Paul's.

If you would like more information about this program please contact Kathy Belcastro (412-487-3678).
