A Note From Tabi

Hey Friends,

Hope you are all well and having a great week. This week I have struggled with the fact that I can't be in two places at once. I am sure you have all been there. Anyone that has children or works with them live in a constant state of needing to be everywhere but just having this one body. I often dream of a day when I can clone myself. As I have mentioned before, we are having an incredibly difficult time find the volunteers needed to run our Children and Youth programs. There have even been times where we have had to cancel Sunday School and Children’s Chapel due to this problem. This is always a last resort and comes with a heavy feeling of defeat. What I think is the hardest part about this situation is the spiritual formation we have taken away from our middle and high schoolers. Whenever I have to lead or be a second adult to the younger kids it means there is nothing for our older youth. I had the startling realization this week that if a youth is in 7th grade they have not had any kind of Sunday School since 4th grade. These are some of the most important years for spiritual formation. The lessons they learn in Youth Formation help them understand and break down what’s happening in our world. It gives them a safe space to ask hard questions. Most importantly it reminds them that the Saint Anne’s community sees them. Our children deserve the opportunity to grow spiritually as they age just like we did. So here I am, once again asking you please sign up to lead a Sunday School Class or Children’s Chapel. If every parent just signed up for ONE Sunday we would be able to bring back our multi aged Sunday School classes.

I look forward to seeing you all this Sunday at church. As always, if there is anything you need feel free to reach out.

Blessings,

Tabi

Some things to remember while serving on the altar:

  • Please make sure you are not blocking Dr. Schemanske's view of the Choir.

Sunday School

Sunday School for grade Pre K-12 will meet downstairs in the Youth Center.

This Sunday we are in need of a parent to assist in Children's Chapel and Sunday School. Please sign up for that and other slots open on that sign up and the Sunday School sign up. In order for these programs to run, we need support from the congregation. Our Children and Youth programs are rebuilding and growing. Something you may not know about Kate is that she has passion for performing, Mamma Mia is my favorite thing on the planet, she can eat goldfish any time of any day, she crochets, and does nonograms for fun.

Kate is an Acolyte, former member of the Junior and Primary Choirs, Day School Alumni and very active in our EYC program.
