Beacon's monthly Rent is Due meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 8:30 - 9:00 am.

This important monthly virtual meeting tracks local and national trends related to supportive housing so you can stay informed and engaged. Beacon staff shares the latest advocacy updates and gives you an easy action to take. They call it “Rent is Due” because we remember everyone who cannot pay rent or is struggling to do so.

The Preschool Is Hiring!

The Oak Knoll Preschool is looking to add a teacher to their 4/5 year old classroom beginning in August. The person in this position would work alongside co-teachers to create lesson plans and a fun learning environment where children can thrive. The preschool offers competitive pay, monthly bonuses, PTO, paid holidays, and a flexible work schedule.

If you are interested in learning more about the position or qualifications needed, or know someone who may be a good fit, please reach out to Kathryn Glorvick.

Ministry Partner of the Month

Our Saviour’s Housing is our Ministry Partner for July

Our Saviour’s Housing provides shelter, housing, and supportive resources to individuals experiencing homelessness. They serve adults who are in immediate need of a safe place to sleep at night by providing a bed, three meals a day, and supportive resources. The shelter is open to guests 24/7 and is the first step in moving from homelessness to home.

Our Saviour’s Permanent Supportive Housing Program serves long-term homeless adults who live with a mental illness, physical disability, and/or substance abuse disorder. For as long as needed, they support more than 100 residents in affordable rental housing, onsite, and scattered around Hennepin County. After years of homelessness, residents have truly found their way home and improved their overall health and wellness with Our Saviour’s ongoing support.

Oak Knoll continues to support Our Saviour’s as a ministry partner and through your generosity. Financial contributions help Our Saviour’s Housing to provide services for those who need them.

An Update from Music Director Matt Cerar

We have enjoyed a wonderful choral season under the direction of Parker Degerness, whose leadership and dedication have enriched our worship throughout the year. A heartfelt thank you to all the choir members and congregation volunteers who generously shared their time and musical talents to help lead us in song during our Sunday services.

As the choir takes a well-deserved summer break, we look forward to special music provided by our summer cantors in the months ahead. Then, beginning September 2, Parker and the choir will resume rehearsals as we prepare for another joyful season of music and worship.

Choir rehearsals are held every Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. during the school year, and new members are always welcome. If you enjoy singing, we invite you to join us!
