Welcome Back, Tyler!

We are so thrilled to welcome Tyler Ruddy back to Grace after his completion of his first year of divinity school at Duke. You will remember that Grace is Tyler’s candidacy sponsor which means that we have recommended him for rostered ministry in the church and are supporting him as he pursues his theological education.

Tyler has spent the year learning in the classroom. But he also has been able to secure a part-time job at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Cary, NC. You are welcome to check out their youtube channel and see if you can catch him preaching a sermon.  

This Sunday at Grace he will be bringing us greetings and the message. Plus, as we did before he went to seminary, we are inviting folks to consider giving a special gift to support Tyler’s seminary education. You can make a gift of any size; I know it will go a long way to help Tyler as he prepares to become a pastor.

Germany Reformation Tour 2027: Informational Meeting

Have you ever dreamed of walking in the footsteps of Martin Luther? Join us for an informational meeting about our 2027 Congregational Reformation Tour to Germany on Sunday, August 23, immediately following worship in the Fellowship Hall.

This 10-day journey will include visits to Berlin, Wittenberg, Eisleben, Erfurt, Leipzig, Wartburg Castle, Weimar, and other significant Reformation sites. Along the way, we'll enjoy guided tours, worship opportunities, fellowship, and Germany's rich history and culture.

Healing Pray-ers Needed

Over the last several years we have designated two Sundays a month (currently the 1st and 3rd Sundays) for the offering of healing prayers in the chapel. Anyone in need of prayer is invited to go into the chapel following communion to request prayers from the person standing behind the kneeler.

You do not need to be a professional spokesperson to offer prayers for someone in need. Jesus set us a powerful example by His use of prayer in everyday life. We are in need of volunteers willing to pray for people on these designated Sundays. Since we only have healing prayers two Sundays of the month, the person offering prayers would only be asked to be a healing pray-er maybe once every 2-3 months, depending on the number of volunteers we have. We conclude our time with each person by anointing them with oil. If you would like to be involved in this ministry, please contact Cinda Williamson (828-773-1342).
