Stewardship Sunday

Thank You!

Thank you to everyone for stewarding God’s mission through Prince of Peace with your time, talent, and treasures in 2024 and to all who have committed pledges. God’s love is working through you for the sake of the gospel in Brookfield and beyond and in cooperation with our church partners our ministry is multiplied. In whatever way you support and serve Prince of Peace’s ministry, you are a blessing to your church and share in building up the body of Christ.

God’s peace be with you.

Advent Journey: 24 days of devotions from 24 followers of Jesus - beginning December 1

Lutherans in New England created this group so that we can think deeply, with holy hearts, about (1) Jesus, (2) waiting and watching for His coming into the world and (3) the opportunity that is ours for new eyes and new hearts as we work for inclusivity for every single one, sensitivity to each one's experience and shared commitment to the dismantling of the walls of racism. Check out the link below for details on this Facebook-based daily Advent devotional series.

Salvation Army

Angel Tree Program

Prince of Peace is once again participating in the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. There were 30 tags available. If you take a tag, please make sure you write your name or your family name after the tag number on the adjacent sheet.

Gifts purchased should not exceed $30. If the item on the tag is more than $30, feel free to substitute the item. When the tags were prepared, it was not possible to research every item.

Attach the entire tag to the gift.

It is important that the tag be fastened securely. If they become disconnected, it makes it difficult to match the gift with the child.

DO NOT WRAP THE GIFT.

All gifts need to be back to the church by Sunday, December 8.

Please direct any questions to Ernie Lehman.

Daily Bread Food Pantry Update

Did you know that 1 in 8 families in Connecticut are hungry? One in six children are hungry every day in Connecticut.

As we sit down to Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, we enjoy great amounts of food. One of our dinners might well feed a family of four.

One third of our food in this country is discarded as garbage. How can we avoid spoilage and feed our neighbor?

I know I won't spoil your appetite but maybe we can start thinking about this problem. Let me know your suggestions.

Thank you for the donations of food, especially in the past week. We donate in gratitude for what we have and give to others.

Prince of Peace members are generous and loving.
