SURVEY ON REOPENING
At our last online meeting, the Vestry asked that I create and send out a survey to gauge the sense of the parish how you'd like to move forward, once the building has been cleaned according to the CDC and Diocesan requirements, and all the necessary preparations have been achieved. That survey was sent out by e-mail on June 1st, and we have mailed paper copies to those for whom we don't have an e-mail address.
If you have not yet given us your input, you can find the survey at this
LINK

WEEKLY PUZZLE
This week we feature our Gothic Rose window (aka--Margy's favorite). You will find the puzzle by clicking
HERE
. You can choose your background color, number of puzzle pieces, and even set it to display just the edge pieces.
A memorial to Thomas McCullough from his daughter, Caroline Everhard. Thomas McCullough was a founder of the church, a member of the first confirmation class, and for many years senior warden of the vestry. The Gothic rose in the pattern symbolizes the promise of Messiah, and the circle surrounding it symbolizes eternity. This window was restored in 2002 by Sarah Douglas in thanksgiving for the lives of Cecilia Walker Perkins, Jennie C. Perkins and Phyllis Perkins Harkey.

OVERALL
I don't have to tell you it has been a tense week across our nation, and around the world. Things are difficult, and frightening, and there is still the deadly coronavirus lurking behind the scenes.
This is a time when people of faith need to pray. Ask that God would hold this nation under God's care, and that our leaders will be led to wise decisions and right actions for the benefit of all. You can find a collection of appropriate and powerful prayers in our Book of Common Prayer, pages 820-827. Here is one I have been offering up quite a bit lately . . .
Look with pity, O heavenly Father, upon the people in this
land who live with injustice, terror, disease, and death as
their constant companions. Have mercy upon us. Help us to
eliminate our cruelty to these our neighbors. Strengthen those
who spend their lives establishing equal protection of the law
and equal opportunities for all. And grant that every one of
us may enjoy a fair portion of the riches of this land; through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We will begin to gather together in smaller assemblies for prayer and worship before too long, provided we can do so safely. We will send a letter through the mail when we have decided on a date.

MEANWHILE
Please know that you remain in my prayers, and I am wishing you every good thing.
Don't hesitate to call if there is any way I can be helpful.
God's peace be with you,
Fr. George
