Congrats to Mokhtar R. ‘18 and Lukas H. ‘19 who were selected to participate in the Jazz at Lincoln Center's half-year showcase and turned in amazing performances!
UPPER SCHOOL STUDENTS CREATE LUXE PRODUCTS FROM TRASH
Design students crafted luxury products using only materials from the trash. This semester they've been exploring global ‘upcycling’ practices, especially as sources of economic development for marginalized people. BREAKFAST CLUB TALKS ABOUT NET NEUTRALITY
This week's World Affairs Breakfast Club on net neutrality was hosted by Nicholas Thompson, Editor-in-Chief at Wired magazine and Berkeley Carroll parent. Mr. Thompson explained what’s at stake, answered questions and helped moderate a lively discussion among attendees. Read more .
SENIOR SPEAKERS
Congratulations to this week's Senior Speakers, (L-R) Sienna D., Matteo H., Gabriel J., and Roger Y.! Sienna shared her new quest of watching classic movies and how these movies have connected to her life so far. Matteo spoke about how he enjoys dealing with difficult people because it teaches him about our differences.

Gabe talked about his love for the different families in his life and how these cultural experiences have influenced his identity. Roger spoke about self love and his journey to learning to appreciate the person he is today.
BC BEGINS PARTNERSHIP WITH "WE" CHARITY & MOVEMENT
The Lower School's Change Makers welcomed a visitor from WE, a worldwide development charity and youth empowerment movement. This year, the organization is working closely with BC to find ways for our Lower, Middle and Upper Schools to analyze our gifts, form an action plan, and collaborate for change on issues of peace, justice and kindness.

3RD GRADE DANCERS INSPIRED BY GREEK & ROMAN GODS
3rd grade dancers exercised their technical and artistic skills in a performance inspired by Greek and Roman gods and goddesses. Students chose their own music, giving the dances a contemporary edge.

Girls to Women Leaders used what they learned at a D.C. conference to facilitate an Upper School assembly where students discussed the meanings (and misconceptions) of sexual misconduct and consent.
