Dear Friends in Christ:

Here are some things I want to bring to your attention as we approach the end of this most bizarre Easter Season . . .
PENTECOST SERVICE, May 31st
To honor the Feast of Pentecost, with the Bishop's permission, we will celebrate Holy Eucharist together, online, using the Prayer of Spiritual Communion, from the Armed Services Prayer Book. If you'd like to know more about Spiritual Communion, there is a very good piece written by a professor of Liturgics at our seminary in California, which can be found HERE . You can find the outline of the Communion service HERE , which includes the Prayer for Spiritual Communion I mentioned above.

Also, I am delighted to tell you that this Sunday we will once again be using the Third Street Mass , which our Choirmaster Andrew Bolden composed for St. Timothy's Church. You can find a copy of that Mass by clicking HERE . If you are on our mailing list, you should be receiving all these materials via the post office in the next day or so.

As a reminder, you can stream the service on our Facebook page, on our website , or using (using the Boxcast channel) on your Roku, AppleTV, or Amazon Fire.
Hymns and more information can be found HERE .

AND . . . if we were gathering in person on Sunday, I would ask you all to wear red (which is the color representing the Holy Spirit). Though we are not gathering in person, please do still wear red that morning, and email us pictures of you in your crimson to add to our bulletin board collection of Easter photos!

AND AND . . . in a phone call with the Bishop yesterday, he suggested he might be joining us on Sunday morning for worship. So, those of you who like to chat along on Facebook, well, just don't make him have to call me afterward, if you catch my meaning.
WEEKLY PUZZLE
This week we feature our very unique Dorcas Window. There are not many churches that have a window in honor of Dorcas. You will find the puzzle by clicking  HERE . You can choose your background color, number of puzzle pieces, and even set it to display just the edge pieces.

This window was given in 1905 as a memorial to Emma A. Dielhenn by her family. The window depicts Dorcas giving alms after being raised from the dead by Peter ( Acts 9:36-45 ). This window was restored in 2002 by Michael and Bonnie Burns to the Glory of God and the good of the people.

BONUS: If you're really bored, you can find a sermon someone preached about this window HERE .

ANNIVERSARY
Curiously, no birthdays this week. However, Pete and Connie Keplinger will celebrate their anniversary on Wednesday, June 3rd. Be sure to wish Connie and her boyfriend all the best!
PRAYERS REQUESTED
Please keep these friends and parishioners in your prayers.
Diana Lawver, David Wigginton, Keith Rowland, Joyce Vitale, Pom Chakkaphak, Jenny Gump, Dr. Bob Ripich, Brian Dorosch, Dr. Don Zimmerman, Rachel Sanchez, Anne Smith, and Jerry DeTemple.
And do call the office if there's anyone you'd like to have added.

I am so sad to tell you that Fr. Erv Smuda passed away on Sunday evening at Woodlawn Hospice. I met Jan and their son Jonathan there to offer prayers and anointing, and to commend Erv to God's care. Please keep his family in your prayers. A service will be held at a later date. You can find Erv's obituary HERE .
CURRENT PLANS
On Tuesday night, Vestry met using zoom and concluded that our best way forward toward opening the building for worship is to begin having two services each week. An early service (perhaps 8am) would be open to the public with many limitations (number of people, facemasks required, proper physical distance, no singing, no Communion, no mingling, etc), then a second service (most likely 10am) to be live streamed with hymns and music and possibly Spiritual Communion, with the building closed to the public.

We are not entirely sure when all this can begin, but hopefully in a couple of weeks. As you know, our main concern is the health and well-being of our parishioners and guests, so we are much more inclined to err on the side of caution, rather than rush things. There are many steps to move through before we safely open the building, and we're working on those now.
MEANWHILE . . .
The flower beds are being weeded, and the Altar flowers folks have contributed this month are getting planted. I think you'll agree, things are looking lovely, and we're excited to see perennial plants rise up alongside the new ones from your weekly offerings.

At the close of this most bizarre Easter season, the flowers of spring still bloom and bring beauty and joy into our lives; may they be reminders for us of the rebirth promised in Jesus, the one who makes all things new.

Remember, you can call or write any time if there is any way I can be helpful.

Missing you all!

Fr. George
