Dear Friends in Christ:
I am actually sending you this e-mail automatically while taking a small vacation with my family. (The wonders of technology, huh?) It's been a long and unrelenting slog since the middle of March, and we are hoping that a series of Ohio day trips will be good for our souls. We had planned to be in Western New York with my extended family this weekend, but . . . well, Ohioans are essentially banned from my home state right now. Strange times indeed.
All of that is to say, I hope that you are making the time to safely "get out of Dodge," whatever that might mean for you. As God rested on the seventh day, we really do need to follow that example and take time for own rest, reflection, and relaxation.
On to the updates . . .

WORSHIP
This week, with the Rector taking a few days off, our online worship opportunities will be slightly different.
Sunday :
8:00 am As usual now, we will open the doors for Morning Prayer, Rite I. We have 22 "booths" for seating, and members of a household can sit together. We can accommodate somewhere between 22 and 44 persons at this service. By way of a reminder, everyone must wear a mask, so please bring your own--if you forget, we will have a limited supply available. Everyone must enter through the parking lot doors, and provide contact information (if we don't already have it).
10:00 am, we will not have an online worship service this week. So, it's a good opportunity for you to "attend" another parish, if you like. Trinity Cathedral in Cleveland does a fine job, and you can find their 10am service at their website, or on their Facebook page.
If you're looking for something a little later, my seminary classmate at St. Philip's in the Hills, Tucson does a lovely service at noon, our time. You can tune in at their website, or on their Facebook page.
Tuesday and Thursday: We will stream The Great Litany and sung Compline at 7pm, on Facebook and at our website.
PLEASE NOTE : We will not be streaming Compline tonight, August 6th, as the Rector is taking a few days off.
Wednesday: at 12:30pm, we feature one of our lovely stained-glass windows with prayers, and musical accompaniment by Choirmaster Andrew Bolden. (Only on our Facebook page.)
More information on all our services can be found at the Calendar page of our website, and all streamed services are then uploaded to our youtube page.

WEEKLY PUZZLE
For the month of August, we are zooming in, to focus on transoms and closeups of our lovely windows. This week's puzzle features the transom above the northwest door of the sanctuary, under the tallest tower. You will find the puzzle by clicking HERE. You can choose your background color, number of puzzle pieces, and even set it to display just the edge pieces. Plus, you get a very affirming crowd reaction once you have completed it!
Fair warning: there's a lot of white space in this puzzle!

Noble and Sherry Carpenter celebrate their anniversary on August 11th.
Be sure to send happy thoughts and good wishes to all who celebrate this week!

OTHER THINGS
Thanks to all who have brought in non-perishable items for our food pantry. We've built up a pretty good selection, thanks to your ongoing generosity. As a reminder, we have cases and cases of canned vegetables, so please don't bring any more of those.
Also, a very big thank you to all who have been able to keep up with your pledge or make contributions to the ongoing ministry of St. Tim's. By way of a reminder, you can donate securely on our website.

It seems appropriate to leave you with this prayer for the Good Use of Leisure:
O God, in the course of this busy life, give us times of
refreshment and peace; and grant that we may so use our
leisure to rebuild our bodies and renew our minds, that our
spirits may be opened to the goodness of your creation;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (BCP pg. 825)
Faithfully,
Fr. George
