A Message from Preschool Director Kathryn Glorvick

β€Š

I cannot help but reflect on this past school year with a feeling of gratitude for our wonderful

program. This year we welcomed 56 children for preschool and/ or child care, this included 25

new families to our program. This year our staff has grown, as we welcomed 2 new classroom

aides and 2 new teachers to our program.

Our classroom spaces have changed as well. We applied for grants through the organization

Think Small, and we received funds to update our classroom spaces. Funds were used to

purchase new classroom rugs, tables, and chairs in our Ladybug classroom, a new kitchen for

our dramatic play center, new reading circles, vinyl couches for our Owl classroom library, and

other classroom toys.

Throughout the school year, teachers planned hands-on activities and experiences for our group

of young learners. We invited several guests to share their role in our community including a fire

fighter, nurse, dentist, and a story theater group. Our oldest classroom participated in the

Gathering, fostering intergenerational learning between the Gathering participants and our

students. All classrooms participated in Chapel with Pastor Jay and Vicar Chantal.

We have ended our preschool year; however we are excited to welcome the start of summer.

We will have planned some fun summer activities, including the Lowry Nature Center visiting

our program to share about native Minnesota Animals and their habitats. We will also welcome

back our music teacher Ms. Michaela from the Minnesota Music Teacher Association. Lastly,

this summer we will partner with Kidokinetics, an organization that promotes moving and

learning. With Kidokinetics, our children will be participating in track and field, soccer, and t-ball.
