Dear Friends in Christ:

I want to give you an update as far as worship numbers go.
Our 8am in-person service is averaging in the mid 20s, which is only slightly lower than normal for us. The Wednesday in-person service usually draws between 6 and 8, which is right around where it normally would be. Sundays at 10am, across the various platforms, we find between 40 and 50 households tuning in, which probably means 70-80 individuals connecting with that service--about average for us, before all this started. In addition, our Tuesday and Thursday online services offer new ways to worship for St. Tim's, and draw a handful of participants each week. So, all told, that's about 100 connections in-person and online each week.

I wanted to tell you those numbers so that you can see we are still connected during this "Covidtide," and people are still looking to worship God, and join together as much as possible. I hope that you are able to join us at home or in person, and if you need any help connecting with us online, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

On to the week's updates . . .
WORSHIP
You can find this week's bulletin insert HERE.

Sunday 8am & 10am:
8:00am Holy Eucharist Rite I, including distribution of breadfor those who wish to partake. Please remember: everyone  must  wear a mask, so please bring your own. All must enter through the parking lot doors, and provide contact information (if we don't already have it).

10:00 am, we will stream Morning Prayer, Rite II. The service outline is HERE, and hymns are HERE.
This service will only be available online, due to restrictions against singing together in person.

Tuesday 7pm:
We will stream The Great Litany and sung Compline at 7pm, on Facebook and at our website.

Wednesday 12:30pm:
Rite II Holy Eucharist. Though we are unable to offer anointing for healing due to social distance restrictions, we will have distribution of bread for those who wish to partake. (Restrictions and guidelines are the same as Sunday 8am service.)

Thursday 7pm:
We will continue our new weekly Thursday service, based on a Taize' model of singing. You can tune in at 7pm, on Facebook and at our website. You can find an outline of the service HERE.

More information on all our services can be found at the Calendar page of our website, and all streamed services are then uploaded to our youtube  page.
QUICK SURVEY
As I mentioned last week or so, I am planning to have an Election Eve Prayer Service, Monday, November 2nd at 7pm.
Though I'd like to make this service open to the public--so folks can pray together in person--I would also like to include chanting the Great Litany and Compline, which we can't do if folks are in the building.
Sooo . . .
Which option would you prefer for Election Eve?
In-person service, masks, no singing.
Streamed-only service with singing.
Both in-person and streamed, masks, no singing.
No opinion, or would not participate.
STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN
Thanks so much to those who have already returned pledge cards or pledged online.
The Vestry and I ask that you prayerfully consider your support of St. Timothy's, and to make a "best estimate" of what you expect to give in the coming year.
A reminder, we have added a tab on our website, which allows you to pledge discretely online, meaning you can opt not to return the pledge card, if that's more convenient. You can find that link HERE.
Thank you in advance for your continued support of our parish.
BIRTHDAYS and ANNIVERSARIES
Celebrating birthdays this week are Cristin Baum and Andrew Bolden (10/18), Gerry Nessar & Reese Kester (10/20).
A bunch of anniversaries this week, including Larry & Nancy Hann (10/20), Bob & Ellin Schroeder (10/20), Michael & Megan Drumm (10/22), and Allan & Mary Humbert (10/24).
Be sure to send happy thoughts and good wishes to all who celebrate this week!

And do call the office if there's anyone you'd like to have added.
WEEKLY PUZZLE
This week, we go all the way back to the beginning of our current building. The photo was taken April 27, 1898, and the sanctuary is set up for the first wedding in our current worship space. Note how the East window has not yet been elevated, and the chancel is not yet extended (which was done in 1909, when the choir pews were added). The pulpit can be seen where it still stands, a gift from the Sunday School children of St. Tim's, in honor of Rev. Wallace Probasco, who died of smallpox while Rector of St. Timothy's in 1877.

You will find the puzzle by clicking  HERE. You can choose your background color, number of puzzle pieces, and even set it to display just the edge pieces. Plus, you get a very affirming crowd reaction once you have completed it!
Rev. Wallace Probasco
Rector May 15, 1873-March 22, 1877
BURYING THE BULBS
Save the date: Saturday, Oct. 24th at 10am.
If you like digging in the dirt, you'll love burying the bulbs.
We're awaiting delivery confirmation of some bulbs, so the date is still tentative.
More information next Thursday.
BUNDLE UP FOR CHURCH
As a reminder, ff you're intending to come to one of our in-person services during the week, you might want to bring along a small blanket and/or keep your jacket on. We will continue to do all we can to keep everyone safe, and that means keeping the windows open whenever we gather together.
FOOD AND FLOWERS
The ebb and flow of the food pantry continues. Some weeks we have plenty, and some weeks not so much plenty. We could use some topping off of the usual things that are not canned vegetables. So, if you'd like to pick up some pasta, peanut butter, canned meats and fish, soups and so forth, our neighbors would appreciate your kindness.
As for flowers, our gardening team has begun purchasing bulbs using a portion of the funds you all have been contributing toward plants. If you'd like to dedicate plants for a special person or occasion, please call the church office at 330/833-3183.

May God continue to bless the people of St. Timothy's, that we may be a blessing to others.

Faithfully,

Fr. George
