UUCSW Announcements

"Stories in Stone

Sunday, September 25, at 1:30 p.m.

Discover the secrets told by the Puritan gravestones in Westborough's first burial ground, next to Forbes Building on West Main Street. Join local historian Kris Allen to wander through Memorial Cemetery, founded in 1704 when 5-year-old Nahor Rice was buried there, and learn about the earliest folk art of the Puritans (the carved gravestones), the fascinating symbolism, the history of our first and most prominent settlers buried there, plus the benefits of the Community Preservation Act for this historical gem. Hosted by the Unitarian-Universalist Congregational Society of Westborough (UUCSW), free.

Membership Team Update -

Coffee Hour and Greeters

Welcome back to a new church year! The Membership Team is thrilled to announce that we are going to bring back coffee hour. We are going to proceed with caution though and see how things go. To start with, we will have a "beverages only" coffee hour on the last Sunday of each month. If that goes well, we will consider expanding later in the year. Our first coffee hour will be Sunday, September 25th.

Now we have an ask for you. We need to have smiling faces greeting our friends at the doors. Can you help? Please sign up using this sign-up genius link: Greeter SignUp Genius Link

National Mid-term Elections are less than two months away!

About a dozen people from our UUCSW community have already written to over 700 underrepresented voters encouraging them to vote in November. Thank you to all who have helped us move closer to our goal of reaching out to 1,000 voters.

As VoteForward.org has shown, letter writing is an easy and effective way of

getting voters to show up at the polls. Learn more and how to join us HERE

Or you can contact Jane or Marge at RJC_GetOutTheVote@uucsw.org to have letters sent to you by email to complete at your own pace.

Letters will be mailed at the end of October, so there’s still time for you to make a difference. We look forward to hearing from you!
