Sunday Morning Adult Study

Prince of Peace’s Fall 2024 Adult Faith Formation, Making Sense of Scripture, continues Sunday, October 13 following the Sunday assembly.

Making Sense of Scripture is a seven-week series designed to engage to common questions about scripture and how to read the Bible and build confidence in reading scripture.

Life’s preoccupations are relentless in pursuing our total attention. But in every circumstance, God’s presence is assured, and is nearer to us than our own breath. Amidst the static, in silence, God’s voice emerges, calming our hearts, satisfying our longing.

So, come away and rest a while with Evening Prayer and be reminded that the only thing that can name you is God’s love.

Valley Concert Series Season Opening at Valley Presbyterian Church

The Valley Concert Series will open its 24/25 season at Valley Presbyterian Church in Brookfield on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. with a performance by Trio Ondata featuring: Michael Ferri, violin; Miriam Liske-Doorandish, cello and Anthony Ratinov, piano. The trio is a New England-based classical music ensemble who began playing together during their graduate studies at the Yale School of Music.

The concert is free and open to the public with a suggested donation of $20 gratefully accepted at the door.

Friday Night Live

Friday Night Live is this Friday, October 11 at 6:00 p.m.!

It will be held at the home of Nancy & Juri Tolmoff.

Blessing of the Seafarers

Scarves and Caps

Over the years the women at POP have been knitting scarves and caps for the Seafarers that dock in Connecticut.

We will be blessing them before we send them off.

If you have knitted any of these items, please have them to the church by October 12th, we will be blessing them on October 13th.

Church Office Closed

The church office will be closed on Monday, October 14 in observance of the Columbus Day federal holiday.

PoP Annual Craft Fair

Our annual Craft Fair will be on November 2^nd from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

To make it a success we need donations of food, bakery items, crafts, gently used Christmas items, used jewelry and YOUR help the day of the fair.

Below you will see the “link” to sign up for donations and also for a time you can work a 2 hour (or longer) shift at one of the booths.

We will be setting up the craft section on THURSDAY, October 31^st at 10:00 a.m. so if you can help with that please let me know via e-mail (marcisharp703@gmail.com)
