Message from the Chair

I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July weekend. We are continuing our work on the Labor Day Retreat with some great events. We are excited to announce a new fantastic program on Friday afternoon the Corporate Counsel Roundtable moderated by our own Greg Yadley. Announced speakers so far are Zach Posner, co-founder of the Legal Tech Fund, Robert Harvey, President and Executive Director of the Florida Opportunity Fund, and Ben Odom, General Counsel at NASCAR. This will be a fantastic program not to be missed.

Committee leadership, please start working on your committee agenda for Labor Day, cutoff date is August 16, 2024.

Business Law Section 2024 Pro Bono Award

Kathy McLeroy, a partner at Carlton Fields, was recognized last week by the Business Law Section with this year’s BLS Pro Bono Award, due to her longstanding commitment to, and contributions to, pro bono and access to justice. Kathy has served for many years as the Chair of the Florida Bar’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono, and is a former chair of the Pro Bono Committee of the BLS.

Reimbursement Deadline

Any reimbursable expenses from Annual Convention must be submitted by July 9, 2024. Please note that per the BLS Reimbursement Policy, hotel reimbursement will be at the block rate which is $225 for Hilton and $305 for Waldorf.
