May 30, 2019
Greetings!
What a blessing it was to receive Bob and Angie Adamson into the membership of our church on Sunday. They have been a dynamic presence in our church and are seeking to grow closer to God.

This Sunday we celebrate our graduates. We realize how many of us are going through times of transition. As we prepare to welcome a new pastor, we also have people who are transitioning to new schools, new work places, new grades, new babies, and many other changes.

I learned in a workshop this week that while change is external, transition is internal. The changes happen whether or not we are ready. Healthy transitions happen when we spend some time being aware of our feelings, grieving any losses we experience, and then preparing our hearts for a new future.

The SPR Team and Prayer Teams have created a devotional resource for everyone to use through the pastoral transition. If you are experiencing other changes, I hope this will be helpful for whatever transition you are experiencing.

We will focus on 1 Peter 4:1-11 this Sunday, particularly verses 8 - 11.

Above all, show sincere love to each other, because love brings about the forgiveness of many sins. Open your homes to each other without complaining. And serve each other according to the gift each person has received, as good managers of God’s diverse gifts. Whoever speaks should do so as those who speak God’s word. Whoever serves should do so from the strength that God furnishes. Do this so that in everything God may be honored through Jesus Christ. To him be honor and power forever and always. Amen.

Blessings,
Heather

A Pounding for the Dorseys
To welcome Pastor Mason & his family, we are holding a "pounding." This simply means that we are stocking their pantry & refrigerator with items that will make life easier following their move. (A pound of this, a pound of that).

Many items used by the Dorseys are organic. Organic items are available at Winn Dixie, Publix, Fresh Market, BJ's, and Grass Roots, to name a few. We have created a Sign-Up Genius site with the items listed that they use. Items should be brought to the church by June 28 and the Nurture Team will take them to the parsonage.
