New Multicultural Supervision Training

 

The DCR Chamber is partnering with Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) to offer businesses and organizations access to course work in Multicultural Supervision.

 

With a new grant from DEED, the Chamber is offering full financial support for individuals who participate in up to seven courses culminating in a full Multicultural Supervision certificate from DCTC. DCTC offers flexibility with both in-person and online course options. Registration will be opening soon.

U.S. Rep. Angie Craig Proposes a Tax Cut for Small Businesses and Small Business Owners

 

Rep. Craig’s Small Business Tax Relief Act will cut the corporate tax rate for small businesses to 18%, increase the self-employment tax deduction for small business owners and help reduce the national deficit. Full text of the Small Business Tax Relief Act can be found here.

Key Dakota County Votes this Week


The Dakota County Board takes up several key items today, as they prepare for upcoming 2025 budget decisions.


• Dakota 911 Funding. Technology upgrades are expected to cost about $1.6 million over the next three years. The County has also gradually been taking over a larger share of the costs of 911 services from City partners.


• Library Strategic Plan Process and Timeline. Five of the County library branches are coming due for renovations and updates in the coming decade. First in line is Wentworth Library in West St. Paul.


• Proclamation of National Nurses Week In Dakota County. The County will honor nurses starting May 6th. The County's 60 nurses and other staff make up an award-winning Public Health Department that was named the nation's best local health department by the National Association of City and County Health Organizations a few years ago.
