We held our April Public Affairs Breakfast Webinar on Friday, April 3, 2020. We were thrilled to have Charlie Zelle, Chair of the Metropolitan Council, speak to our members and guests about the challenges Metropolitan Council is facing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Charlie also addressed the ongoing projects and policies Metropolitan Council is working on in transit/transportation, affordable housing, and water/wastewater treatment. Thank you, Charlie Zelle, for discussing the vision and policies for Metropolitan Council during this unprecedented time. That’s why we’re launching our FIRST EVER virtual Coffee Break. We will attempt to provide each participant with the opportunity to introduce yourself and your business.   The monthly Coffee Break was established by the DCR Chamber of Commerce to casually network in a comfortable atmosphere. Join us for a great morning of virtual networking.
New Minnesota COVID-19 Website
Governor Walz launched a new website to share information about COVID-19 such as Minnesota data and statistics, response efforts, and FAQs.

CARES Act Information and Resources
Congresswoman Angie Craig and Brian McDonald of the Small Business Administration held a Small Business & Nonprofit Webinar about the CARES Act on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Maureen Scallen Failor, President of the DCR Chamber of Commerce, was the moderator for this discussion.  Watch a recording of the webinar , view Congresswoman Craig's resource page , and access SBA loan information about the CARES Act and how to receive economic relief.

A Guide for Minnesota Small Businesses Who Need Help
Several state and federal programs have been built to assist small businesses struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic. DEED put together this summary guide to help small businesses quickly see which programs might be right for their situation.

New Resources and Assistance for Businesses
The U.S. Chamber has developed resources to help businesses access resources created under the CARES Act (Phase III bill). 
 
The U.S. Department of Treasury issued additional guidance regarding the Paycheck Protection Program.
