With recent headlines regarding the ongoing public safety issues on Metro Transit Bus and LRT lines, and the need for better and more accessible housing, we are pleased to announce Metropolitan Council Chair, Charlie Zelle, will be speaking at the DCR Chamber’s Public Affairs Breakfast scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2020, 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. at Lost Spur Event Center.
A longtime businessman who led his family's bus company, Jefferson Lines, Zelle first entered the public sector in 2013 when then-Gov. Mark Dayton picked him to lead the transportation agency, MnDOT. He leads the powerful regional agency that manages public transit, affordable housing, wastewater, and land use planning in the metro area, with over 4,500 employees and a $1.2 billion dollar budget.

Privilege and Trauma Workshop
How can each of us dynamically and open-heartedly participate in this world where there is such a diversity of experiences: personal, historical, neurological, economic, and cultural? How can we listen to each other honoring our perspective AND let go of that perspective long enough to hear someone else's point of view? How else can we engage in social justice, personal empowerment, and love? The presenters will offer a simple and dynamic tool that can help each of us examine our place in this diverse world and enable us, together, to begin creating a world of equitable empowerment.
FREE to attend, reservations are required. There are two location/time options for this workshop on Friday, February 28, 2020.
