Farmington City Council Changes

Katie Porter has served on city council since 2021 and submitted her resignation at the May 6 council meeting. Katie Bernhjelm has stepped up to fill in and serve in this role until December 31, 2024. She was previously on city council (and also formerly on the DCR Chamber Board of Directors).

Dakota County Recognized Nationally

Dakota County will be recognized in July with seven top Achievement Awards from the National Association of Counties. This is a record number of awards for the County. The awards received are for the following: 

• Kaposia Library in South St. Paul, in the Arts, Culture and Historic Preservation category 
• Thompson Oaks Wetland Restoration in West St. Paul, in the County Resiliency category 
• Career Fairs in the Community and Economic Development category 
• Program and Service Inventory Dashboard in the County Administration and Management category 
• Mental Health Crisis Continuum in the Criminal Justice and Public Safety category 
• Mothers and Babies Program in the Health category 
• Housing Clinic at Eviction Court in the Human Services category
