Message from Jon Althoff, President and Chief Mission Officer

Congratulations are in order!

Becca Scholz, Director of Events, Programs and Engagement, has announced that she has accepted a position as President of a large Chamber of Commerce outside of Dakota County. Their members have not all been notified yet, so we are keeping the chamber name confidential for now.  Becca has led our Events providing excellent execution and has also offered many suggestions that have led to improved DCR Chamber performance. She has also taken on many other assignments in her two and one-half years with us. I am happy to see her move into this large chamber role, and to choose to stay in the chamber industry. Becca’s last day will be December 4^th, the day after the Annual Holiday Lunch featuring our regional nonprofits. The plan is to fill this role as quickly as the right candidate can be found.

Annual Holiday Luncheon

Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce invites you to help us celebrate the season by attending our Annual Holiday Luncheon. We will recognize nonprofit members and organizations, highlighting their efforts and community contributions during this festive event. It is a great way to learn what services they provide and how you can volunteer or contribute. 

Multicultural Leadership Training

While the Certificate program for training at DCTC in underway with 17 DCR Member employees taking the training, there are additional individual courses that are available for free in 2025 for DCR Members. These include Multicultural Conflict Resolution and Leading a Multicultural Workforce. Contact Jon Althoff at jalthoff@dcrchamber.com for more information on how to sign up for the free course(s).

2024 County-Wide B2B Expo and After Hours Event

It was a great evening at the 2024 County-Wide B2B Expo and After Hours Event. A joint event with our county partner chambers, the evening was a success for attendees and vendors alike. Attendees enjoyed an evening of food, fun and connections with businesses throughout Dakota County!

2nd Annual DCR Intern Match Program with CAPS TriDistrict

Again this year, we are working with TriDistrict to provide our businesses with quality high school interns, and real world experience for them, too! They can be paid or unpaid, in person, or virtual. Internships are for the Spring Semester.

Solventum to Move to Eagan

Solventum, Minnesota’s newest major public company at an estimated $2B in annual sales, will invest an estimated $200+ million to relocate and consolidate staff and operations to an advanced research and development facility in Eagan from its legacy locations at 3M’s Maplewood campus. They considered many locations, some international, before deciding on coming to Eagan and Dakota County. Solventum expects to be in its new location in early 2026.
