Christmas Wreath Decorating Workshops
Nov 30 and Dec 1—Come Join Us!
Help us decorate the wreaths--it's great fun and no experience is necessary. We will train you. Please bring garden clippers and wire cutters if you have them.
We will be hosting two workshops:
Sunday, November 30th from 11:30-1:30 after coffee hour
Monday, December 1st from 12:00-2:00
We are planning to have over 100 wreaths available to sell—help us keep this fundraiser strong this year. We will have snacks and the decorations ready to go and could use many hands to help us decorate! And, did we mention we will have good snacks…

Time to Order Christmas Poinsettias!
At Christmastime, our sanctuary is filled with poinsettias sponsored by parishioners. You can purchase one or more in honor of, or in memory of, a loved one. Each plant is $15 and may be ordered by filling out the attached form and returning it to church with a check made out to Second Parish.

Holiday Party
Saturday, December 13, 2 pm
Dear Friends,
In the spirit of the upcoming holidays, the Horte family would like to invite all to our home on Saturday, December 13th at 2:00 to eat, drink, and be merry! Appetizers, small plates, and desserts will be served. If you are interested in participating in a Yankee swap, please bring a grab gift of approximately $25 value. We will do two swaps, an over-18 and an under-18 so that all can participate.
Please e-mail jbhorte@comcast.net by December 1 if you plan to attend. We hope you can make it!

Friends of the Homeless
Christmas Gift Project
Thank you to everyone who is participating in the FOH Christmas project. Let Peggy know if you have any questions or concerns.
Please remember to wrap each gift, and label them with the recipient’s first name, family number and letter (example: Emily 47A). If you are able, please pack the wrapped and labeled gifts for each family together in a bag or box. This makes it easier for the volunteers who are sorting and delivering the gift bundles to each family.
Gifts can be left in Cushing Hall on Sunday, December 7, or inside the porch at Peggy Mosher’s home up until Noon on December 12. Mary Collins will be picking up the gifts from Cushing Hall and Peggy’s porch and delivering them to the Friends of the Homeless distribution center on December 13. Please contact Mary (lizzitish3@verizon.net) if you need help with the gift drop-off.
Thank you!

Fill the Pew for the Food Pantry
We filled the front pew with a huge assortment of items from the Food Pantry wish list in November. We also donated over $1,500 from our November Second Sunday collection to help the Food Pantry scale up their food distribution during the uncertainty with SNAP benefits.
The Food Pantry has updated their list of needed food items for their December distributions. Please see the list below, and add one or two items to your grocery cart when you do your shopping:
- Hearty Canned Soups
- Crackers
- Cookies
- Pasta Sauce
- Cookie Mix
- Maple Syrup
- Boxes of Cocoa (in packets)
Thank you!

The Second Parish book club will be meeting during coffee hour next Sunday, December 7, to discuss A Woman of No Importance: The Untold Story of the American Spy Who Helped Win World War II.
All are welcome even if you have not read the book.
Please bring your suggestions of good books for our January group.
From Goodreads: "Despite being underestimated due to her gender and a prosthetic leg, Hall built a vast spy network in France, coordinated with the British and American intelligence agencies, and led a successful guerilla campaign after D-Day. The book details her espionage work, her daring escape from France, and her post-war life."
