"Incarnation" by Adam Hamilton

Every Thursday at 11:30 AM - December 2, 9, 16 and 23

"May your faith and understanding grow so that together we might stand in awe of the Incarnation, and in turn incarnate the love of God that came to us in Jesus Christ."
  • Adam Hamilton

Incarnation makes one bold claim...that God came to us, not as an idea and not as a symbol, but as one of us. But, how do we really understand this radical doctrine?

Maybe we can put aside trying to explain "how" it works. And, instead wonder "why" and "what now" when it comes to understanding God's desire to be with us through his son, Jesus Christ.

This study will explore the different names of Christ and how each of those names can guide us to live more fully into the Incarnation as Christians. Messiah, Savior, Emmanuel, and the Word will be our Gospel guides this Advent season. Let us together rediscover the significance of Christmas.

You may purchase the book if you desire but it is not required to participate. Please RSVP to Cindy at so that we may order the appropriate number of boxed lunches.

Sunday, December 19th at 7:00 PM

Our choir is starting to prepare and create a beautiful service of Lessons and Carols this Advent season. The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols was first celebrated at King's College, Cambridge on Christmas Eve, 1918. It has become a favorite tradition in many congregations and we are looking forward to sharing this tradition with Grace Church and the Goochland community.

A part of the service includes 9 readings. As a result, we need volunteers to serve as Readers. Please email Cindy at if you are able and willing to be a part of this special service.
