Grace Episcopal Church
Weekly Update
January 15, 2019

Grace Church is forming a Men’s Group! Our purpose is to provide the men of Grace Church a time for fellowship, spiritual development, encouragement, mentoring and service. As our group develops, it will be open to all men in the area who are interested in attending.

We will hold two meetings a month during the school year on the first and third Thursday of each month beginning in February. Most meetings will be held in the upstairs Parish Hall from 7:00pm to 8:30pm with exceptions for holidays and other special events. During the summer, there will be opportunities for events, service projects and support for other Church activities.

Please join us on January 24 at 7:00pm in the Parish Hall to learn more.  Refreshments will be served. There will be a guest speaker from an ongoing men’s group to provide some history and input. Please plan on attending if you are interested in learning more about the group and would like to provide your ideas.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Martin Rodgers at 804-241-3040 or by email at .

VESTRY MEETING - The next Vestry meeting is scheduled for January 17th from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.

RISE AGAINST HUNGER - We need your help! On Saturday, January 26th from 8:00am to 11:00am we will join Hebron Presbyterian Church (located on Shallow Well Road) and package food for Rise Against Hunger. This is a wonderful event and easy for all ages. The food we package will be sent to communities around the world for hunger relief. A sign up sheet is posted in the Parish Hall.

SUPPER CLUBS - We will be meeting directly following the 11 am service on February the 3rd to discuss new supper club groups. Those who have participated in the past as well as those who might wish to get involved are encouraged to attend. Supper Club is a great way to get to know your fellow parishioners in a more casual setting. A sign up sheet will be posted in the Parish Hall. Questions? Please call Christie Evans at 690-5171.

Let's Get Cooking!

We have two great opportunities for you to get involved with a couple of new ministries at Grace.

First Fridays
First Fridays is a new ministry where we will gather on the first Friday of each month at 9am in the Parish Hall to bake muffins for our members who are not able to attend church on a regular basis, who may be sick, or who may just need a little pick-me-up. After our baking is complete each month, we will deliver our treats while they are still warm! All ingredients and supplies will be provided along with a different recipe each month. Every one is welcome! The dates for the spring are as follows:

February 1, March 1, April 5, and May 3
9:00 - 10:30am

Stock Up for Coffee Hour
Keep your oven mitts on...we will meet again on Saturday, February 2nd to bake goodies for coffee hour. Our goal is to stock the freezer to provide treats for the coming weeks. Dig out your favorite recipe and join us from 9:00-12:00 in the Parish House kitchen. Basic baking supplies will be provided. Please contact Betsy Wright with any questions.
