SHROVE TUESDAY AND ASH WEDNESDAY

The Grace Church Men's Group will host Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on February 21st at 5:30 pm.

No reservations are needed. Everyone is invited. We hope to see you there!

The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 22nd.

You are invited to a celebration of Holy Eucharist and imposition of ashes at Noon in the sanctuary. All are welcome.

LENTEN LUNCH SERIES

Join us for our annual Lenten Luncheon Series every Thursday during Lent! This year, Grace Church will be partnering with The Rev. Susan Steinberg and Providence Presbyterian Church as we read and learn together. Our guiding text will be...

The Drawing of This Love: Growing in Faith with Julian of Norwich by Robert Fruehwirth. You may order a copy here .

Using the writings of Julian, a 14th century mystic, we will explore themes of emerging faith, the testing and deepening of faith, and the ongoing process of sustaining our faith as a journey with God.

We are honored to welcome The Rev. Robert Fruehwirth, the author of the book, to our Lenten study. Robert is an Episcopal Priest and former director of the Julian Centre in Norwich. He will join us on March 9 via Zoom to discuss Julian's writings and answer your questions to help us all go deeper into our study. We will end our Lenten study with a silent mini-retreat on March 30.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Vestry

Vestry meets on Wednesday, February 15th at 6:00 pm. A brief financial orientation will be offered at 5:30 for the new Vestry members.

Hymn Sing

Hymn Sing is this Sunday, February 19th. Start thinking about a favorite Hymn you would like the congregation to sing.

Morning Prayer

Beginning on Sunday, February 26th, we will begin offering Morning Prayer at 9:00 am during the Lenten Season.

Food Pantry

Grace donated 198 pounds of food to the Food Pantry at GoochlandCares this week! Great job and many thanks. Reminder that we will be collecting for the Food Pantry the 2nd Sunday of every month.

Worship, Learn, CARE

Volunteer at the GoochlandCares Food Pantry and Clothes Closet

We will have volunteer opportunities starting in March for help in the Food Pantry on Saturday morning the 11th, from 10 am to Noon, food collection in the Parish Hall on Sunday the 12th, and help with the Clothes Closet and/or Food Pantry on the fourth Monday of the month, March 27th, from 9 am to Noon.

If people have not previously volunteered with GoolandCares, you will need a virtual, one hour training session offered twice a month. The next dates for training are Tuesday, February 21st from 5pm to 6pm and Tuesday, March 7th from 1 pm to 2 pm.
