Good morning!

I hope you are well today and that the spirit of an amazing Easter Sunday is still with you as we move throughout the week! My mind keeps going back to our Sunrise Service, with that brilliant Sunrise coming up over the water as we celebrated Jesus’ resurrection with about 150 people! Think about the uplifting experience of being in worship together on Easter Sunday. Whether at the Sunrise service on the beach or in the Sanctuary, couldn’t you just feel the sense of the Spirit being present, a breath of fresh air and hope? I certainly did!

Being together in worship and trust is a special form of generosity. Your presence is, itself, a generous gift to others as you exchange signs and words of peace, pray and promise to help heal and revitalize a wounded world.

We are constantly talking about moving forward with a return to worship when it is safe to do so. As we have said and practiced from the beginning, when the science and vaccine rate allows us to add the next level of return, we will be ready to do so! We will be adding outdoor worship on Sundays sometime in May, when the weather is a bit more predictable.

We will consider a return to singing once the science leads us to being able to do so safely. And we will return to Fellowship time when the risk for spreading Covid is at a safe and acceptable level. That time will come, just as the sun rose last Sunday, right on time for all to see!

What Easter teaches us is that the teachings of Jesus returns when we remember his love for us, the Spirit of God returns when we reach out to each other and express concern and delight. Do your part today!

“Hope” is the thing with feathers –
That perches in the soul –
And sings the tune without the words –
And never stops – at all –
~ Emily Dickinson

I’m feeling hopeful. Kids are heading back to school full time, people are returning to workplaces and reuniting with colleagues, and vaccinations are opening up for more and more of us.

Our time together in worship is coming back slowly, and we’re still reaching as many we can, whether in person or virtually.

We strengthen ourselves with hope and trust in our Savior Jesus Christ.
Be safe and be strong.

Blessings to you all,
Rev. John

We are busy planning to participate in a safe Summer Camp at Camp Cody in August. RB has been meeting regularly with the Camp Executive Committee to ensure a safe experience for all campers and staff, using the Camp Cody staff for guidance as they experience their own program before our week at camp in August.

The size of the Camp has been cut to 250 campers and staff with Covid protocols being developed; things like Covid tests before camp starts, limiting numbers of buses going to camp, having meals outside as often as possible etc.

I am very optimistic that we will be able to safely offer an AMAZING experience for our teens (7th grade grads – 12th grade grads). We will be issuing registration material later in the month and we will continue to keep you all updated!
