Garden Committee Minutes
from July 27 Meeting
The committee is taking immediate action to improve the church’s appearance. This Friday, July 29th at 9:30 am, we are going to weed the beds, add more mulch, buy annuals (buy colorful petunias on sale) and put large planters on the stairs. This will be a labor of love by the committee to weed, buy plants and maintain some flowers for the rest of the summer. Everyone is welcome.
Topic for future discussion:
1) Man power is needed to clear beds on Ruggles Street and School Street. Susie Wells is orchestrating clearing overgrowth. Please contact her if you can help.

2) Donations are welcomed to defer the cost of restoring the appearance of our church. Donations can be made to UUCSW Garden Restoration.
3) No decision has been made as to what to plant in the old beds. The following are necessary considerations: plants with low water needs, shade loving, low maintenance, low height, visually attractive and cost effective . Under consideration are plants indigenous to New England, ecologically friendly and those plants that display Unitarian Universalist principles.
4) Next Zoom meeting August 25th 7 PM. Everyone is welcome.
