Sunday Service: "Stories of Resilience in Hard Times"
led by Rev. Laurel Gray
May 30th at 10:30 am
On this Memorial Day weekend, we'll continue our theme of storytelling and focus on stories of resilience in hard times. We will both take time to honor those who have served in the military and remember the story of how our chalice came to be, a symbol of hope born of struggle.

Racial Justice Committee Announcements
Check your US mail! Kathie Metzger and Sheila McPharlin, on behalf of the Finance and Racial Justice Committees, have sent us an invitation to invest in Boston's working-class Black, Indigenous and People-of-Color (BIPOC) communities by supporting the Ujima Fund – an established democratic investment mechanism for raising capital to finance small businesses, real estate, and infrastructure projects (ujimaboston.com). We aim to raise together $2,500, have that matched by funds already earmarked for investment (up to $2,500) and then invest in the Ujima Fund a total of $5,000 on behalf of UUCSW. Please check your mail for a more detailed invitation. The June Vista will also provide details. Questions about the Ujima Fund can be directed to Kathie or Sheila.

Register now for limited seating for a June 7th virtual screening of “I’m Not Racist...Am I?” (notracistmovie.com). Immediately following the screening, a Q&A will be held with the film’s director, Catherine Wigginton. Brought to you by Westborough Connects, Westborough Public Library, and Westborough Public Schools.

SMOC Food Drive for June
Please consider participating in a food drive to benefit the South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC). They are especially in need of: 6-8 ounce juice boxes; fresh fruit, especially apples and clementines; 16 oz. packages of bologna; and soft granola bars. There will be a collection on Thursday, June 24th between 4:30 and 5:45 pm at the Ruggles Street door. Please reach out to Libba Moore at libbamoore13@gmail.com ahead of time if there’s a better time for you. Thank you for your help with this.
Clothing Drive for SMOC
SMOC has identified the need for clothing, especially for men. Donated items can include: new socks and underwear, and gently used sweatshirts, sweatpants, T-shirts, and jeans. Please bring your donations to UUCSW on Thursday, June 24th between 4:30 and 5:45 pm, the same day/time as the monthly food drive. If this timing does not work for you, please reach out to Nancy Siegal at Nsiegal185@msn.com or Pauline Sciarappa at psciarappa@gmail.com for other options.
