2022-2023 Pledge Campaign Update
Thanks to all who have pledged! We are already more than half-way to our financial goal of $138,000 in just a few days. And pledging has never been easier! According to Ellen Rutter, referring to pledging on Realm, "It was way easier than I expected. It took less than a minute on my phone!" The monies received from the pledge are vital to the operation of the church. But where does all the money come from that makes up our total operating budget, and where does it go? Lisa Shumway, our treasurer, has put together the following information.
Where does the UUCSW income come from?
Our total budget for 2021/2022 was $191,706. The sources of income were:
61% Pledges
20% Property Usage (3 School St Rental, Miss Tanya’s Nursery School, Indian Dance)
7% Fundraisers (e.g. Auction)
5% Interest Earned
4% Prior year surplus contribution (New this fiscal year, this money is being used for special projects, such as hybrid service equipment)
3% Share the Plate and Misc. collections
What does the money get used for?
Here is how the $191,706, was used:
67% Total Personnel Compensation (Salaries, benefits, taxes, etc.)
25% Operating Expenses (Utilities, Maintenance, Insurance, etc.)
6% Programs (Committees, guest ministers, etc.)
2% UUA Contribution (Each UU congregation donates to the UUA to support their efforts)
As you can see, pledges are a hugely important part of our operating budget! Once again, thanks to all who have pledged or plan to pledge. We are clearly Better Together!
