Summer Community Sing

THIS SUNDAY!

Let’s gather and celebrate the power of song and music!

We will be having two “Community Sing" events on the UUCSW church lawn:

> Sunday, July 17th - 1pm

> Saturday, Aug 13th - 1pm

Children can use the nursery school playground as well, so bring the whole family!

Also stay tuned for a summer picnic or two in the works.

For another fun musical place to be, try “Willow Wednesdays”- 7 pm concerts on the lawn at the WILLOWS (corner of Lyman and Rte 30) where you are likely to run into many friends.

Racial Justice Committee

You can make a difference...

Voting ALWAYS matters, but voting this year seems especially pressing. With the Racial Justice Committee coordinating, already over 300 letters encouraging underrepresented voters to vote have been prepared!

As Vote Forward has shown, letter writing is an easy and effective way of getting voters to show up at the polls. We’ll be preparing letters through October. Learn more about this effort HERE

Or if you want to join a “get-out-the vote” letter writing party, Sheila from the Racial Justice Committee is sponsoring one in July.

Here is Sheila’s message:

I am hosting a letter writing event at The Willows in the 4th floor lounge at 2 pm on July 19. We will write letters for an hour and then all participants are invited to stay for a UU gathering at 3.

Since this is a senior residence, all participants must wear masks.

I will organize small groups of pre-printed letters, envelopes and stamps.

Before we begin to write, I will review the process so we are all clear about what is needed.

Please respond if you can attend so I can arrange for adequate tables and chairs.
