Community News

December 7 at 2pm

Together we will hear from frontline leaders about the status of the fight, learn more about how to submit a public comment, and then have time to write and submit our own.

As frontline Indigenous leaders continue to show the way, we must remain steadfast in our support. No longer should water, health, and life be sacrificed for short-term profits. The Biden administration must side with the people, not fossil fuel companies, and shut down DAPL and fossil fuel infrastructure once and for all.

Sharing Christmas at UCMU, Mendon

You are invited to a special holiday program entitled, "Sharing Christmas," that UCMU is hosting on Monday, December 11th, at 7pm. The church is located at 13 Maple Street in Mendon.

Here is the description, "My name is Wayne Phipps and I am a professional Santa. I have always loved Christmas...it is as the commercial says, 'the most wonderful time of the year.' I am the resident Santa at Silver Bell Farm in Monson, and it is here that I greet over 2000 children telling them stories, sharing beautiful lights, and having pictures done.

I so love what I do, and the program which I call, 'Sharing Christmas' is my way of giving back to the community which has supported me. I'm offering a program that shares my love of Christmas with some of my collectible items of Christmas and a few songs.

On December 11th, at UCMU, I will show some old and vintage Christmas items and share what I do for this most special time. Please come and join me as you quietly reflect on the peaceful times of Christmas. I invite all to come, adults and children, to share the peace and love of Christmas."

Light refreshments will be served. The program is free and all are welcome.

Justice Church

Many of us may feel we are in the thick of despair. If not, in the thick of it, we may feel close to it. It is a hard time. Let us explore together what it takes to move from despair, and also act upon our love in a way that enables us to move, to organize, to craft the change we need.

Dec. 19th 6:30-7:30, RSVP here

Justice Church is a monthly virtual service for UUs who care about justice from across our network to come together in community to reground spiritually, connect, and build power together. We will include a break-out group coffee hour, announcements, community offerings, and trainings. We hope that this will be a space to find spiritual grounding, collaborate and meet other UU Mass Action members, and be together in a space of ritual and song!
