Sunday Service: "Flower Communion"
June 13th at 10:30 am
It is our custom as Unitarian Universalists to do Flower Communion on the last Sunday of the church year. This is a ritual that celebrates the diversity of human experience and the beauty of holding that multitude in community. As it is the last Sunday of the church year, we will also be honoring our high school graduates and those who are retiring from church leadership roles.

Bring your flowers to the church picnic in the afternoon (5:00 pm, Bay State Commons) for Flower Communion!

COVID-19 Gathering Guidelines Update
Thank you to everyone who completed our recent reopening survey. Based on your feedback, and the latest CDC, state, and UUA guidance, we continue to work toward a safe return to in-person gatherings. As of this week, and through the summer months, we are asking that our members and visitors adhere to the following guidelines:

  • For outdoor events (including this Sunday’s church picnic), masks and social distancing are no longer required. Sharing of food and drink and group singing continue to be restricted.
  • For indoor events attended by children under 16, everyone must wear a mask. Children under 12 do not yet have access to vaccines, and many younger teens (ages 12-15) may not yet be fully vaccinated.
  • Small groups of fully-vaccinated adults may now meet inside the church building, without masks, if all participants consent to do so. Completing the online contact tracing form is no longer required. Small groups may also choose to continue to meet on Zoom.
  • If you have an in-person meeting with Rev. Laurel, you do not need to wear a mask if you are fully vaccinated. If you do wear a mask, Rev. Laurel will wear one also.

This summer, worship services will continue to be offered online only. We are planning a shift to “hybrid” services (in person, with a remote participation option) starting in September. More information about the reopening process and timeline will be shared in the coming weeks. Details about the transition to hybrid worship services will be finalized later this summer.
"Circle Sundays" Summer Services
This summer we are joining with the Northboro, Marlborough/Hudson, and Berlin UU churches to offer virtual "Circle Sundays" services. The services are taking shape, but we are still looking for service leaders on July 25th and August 22nd. If you have an idea for a service, please email Sharon Barrett at program.chair@uucsw.org.
