Post Card Writing Campaign
This week marks one year since Supreme Court ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson (over-turning Roe v. Wade).
We are marking this by trying to preserve the right to an abortion in at least one state- the state of Ohio.
PLEASE JOIN US IN CHURCH
SUNDAY JUNE 25 at 10:30
(before the General Assembly morning
service is broadcast in church from 11-12:30)

We will be sponsoring a post card writing campaign to encourage voters in Ohio to vote in a special election.
Background: Ohio has an amendment in the Nov. election that would protect the right to an abortion within the state. Currently, it only takes a simple majority for an amendment to become law; however, the legislature wants to move this to a 60% approval. The state is holding a special election in August to try and pass this new threshold. Since 625,000 Ohians have been purged from the voter rolls since 2018, this postcard campaign is urging voters of color (who are the most likely to have been purged) to check their registration status and if necessary, to re-register by July 10th.
To find out more about this initiative as well as the organization spearheading this effort, please go here: BWPM - Ohio Campaign #1 - Voter Registration

All you need to do is SHOW UP and we will provide all the materials! Contact Kim Hall or any folks from the “SHAG” justice group (David King, Nancy Siegel, Lisa Kimball, Amanda Hall, and Rev Laurel) for any questions

Speak with Meredith for her book project!
Would you like to share your thoughts about the church year with Meredith O’Brien for her book project? She spent the 2022-2023 church year shadowing Rev. Laurel for a project tentatively called, “The Making of a Millennial Minister.”
If you want to offer her some of your insight into the past year — all congregant names will be changed in the book — please send her an email: [email protected] (Don’t forget the “e” in the middle.). You can: schedule a phone conversation, a Zoom session, or an in-person meeting, or simply send her an email containing your thoughts about the 2022-2023 church year.
She looks forward to hearing from you.

It's time to join forces to help those in need! Corinne required more than 200 transfusions while undergoing treatment, thanks to donors like us, supplies were there. The need is still great and we can make a difference. Usually summer weather means fewer donors, we can show our support with these 2 Tatnuck drives.
Please use this link for the drive on Tuesday, June 27th. If you donated at either drive in April you will be eligible for either June drive.
If you have any eligibility questions or any questions about donating please call the donor center at 617-355-6677, closed Mondays, or visit their website by using the link above. Please know that the Boston Children's Hospital Blood Donor Center staff will take care of you, they are amazing. Help get the word out and share this email with friends and family to help ensure patients feel our support.
Thank you in advance for stepping up!
