Danced the Night Away!
Thanks to those who attended the Dance Party- we refreshed our “moves" with the Macarena, the Chicken Dance, and of course, it was fun to be at the “YMCA”!!
It was fun for those under 50- teens Moira and Naomi, who were great teachers of dance steps to the “Cotton-eyed Joe", and for those over 50- who made enthusiastic efforts to learn how to “FLOSS” from 9 year old Parker Nolan.
Of course there were the “PROS” Dan Price and our own Phyllis Barrett who did some fantastic “Dancing with the Stars” routines on Saturday and again in church Sunday.
Thanks to Phyllis Barrett for organizing, Dan Price for DJ'ing, Susie Wells for decorations, Vince Aqulino for set up help, all who donated food and drink.
And last but not least, gratitude for our our fabulous worker- bees: Naomi Gold, Moira Nolan, and Parker Nolan.
We couldn’t have done it without you all!!!
We raised some “FUNDS” for the gardens, and some serious “FUN” for us all.
Hope to see you all the next time “Saturday Night Fever” hits!
With sincere gratitude,
The Dance Committee

Circle the date
November 8th is election day!
On Saturday, October 29th several of us will mail nonpartisan letters to 920 under-represented registered voters encouraging them to vote. Thank you to all here at UUCSW who took part in this effort, coordinated by Vote Forward, by writing personalized messages about why they vote.
Now, set yourself a reminder to participate in our democracy by voting in the November 8th election. Locate your polling place; know the hours they open and close. Add to your schedule the time of day you’ll be voting. Let your voice be heard.
On behalf of the Racial Justice Committee, thank you.

The Michael Servetus/InterNational Conference Against Racism
October 28 - October 30, 2022
This conference will be a hybrid event, based on a professional Zoom system, in honor of one of our martyrs, Michael Servetus, whose idea of recreating a form of Christianity to include Jews and Muslims, is an archetype of what we mean by multiracial unitarian universalism. It is being sponsored by the Religious Professional Task Force of the Unitarian Universalist Multiracial Unity Action Council—UUMUAC. Our theme is the vital role which Multiracial Unitarian Universalism, as an embodiment of the Seven Principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations, especially the Fourth Principle, can play in the struggle against racism in all its forms from Afghanistan to Zambia. The Hilton Geneva Hotel and Conference Center, Geneva, Switzerland, will be the site for our key activities, and the times for the hybrid activities will be 10 am – 4 pm, Eastern Time
Visit www.uumuac.org/international for more details.
The cost of registration, whether in-person or via Zoom, is $150. Registration will remain open until Thursday, October 27, 2022, Noon Central Time (7 p.m. Geneva Time). To register, complete the Contact page at www.uumuac.org, then use the Donate button to pay the registration cost; or send your contact information along with your registration payment to UUMUAC, 1448 E. 52nd St., Box 267, Chicago,IL 60615.
