From the Racial Justice Committee:

Infant Clothing Needed! You are invited to help us answer the call from Dr. Sara Shields from the Family Health Center of Worcester (FHCW) https://fhcw.org/ Recall that Dr. Shields spoke to us this past Spring during a Sunday service about maternal health and infant mortality.

The FHCW Baby Shop is running low on supplies. We have collected and donated items in the past. The Baby Shop is currently in need of infant clothing sized newborn through 24 months.

The Racial Justice Committee sees this action as a nod toward helping those harmed by social systems that created unfair circumstances. Collections will be Sunday August 20 immediately before and after the service; and again, on Thursday August 24 during the traditional SMOC collection time. Stay tuned for a September collection date.

For alternative drop off arrangements please contact Pauline at [email protected]; for other questions please text/call Nancy at 508-259-0923. Thank you!

Town of Westborough Seeks Donations for Families Recently Sheltered in Westborough

Nine families are being placed in a hotel in the Town of Westborough. The Select Board, Public Safety departments, Public Health department, the legislative delegation, and other enlisted state agencies mobilized immediately to coordinate the pressing needs of these roughly 40 individuals, which includes children.

The Town is currently seeking donations for the families housed in our community. Currently, we are NOT accepting used clothing, cash donations, or household items.

In order to strategically coordinate needs, we will be accepting donations at the Westborough Fire Station 42 Milk Street, between 10am-2pm from August 9, 2023 through Friday, August 11, 2023.

Update on Ohio Vote

Thank you to our post card writers!

The Ohio amendment to the constitution was voted down! This means that passage of an upcoming initiative to promote access to abortion will still only require a simple majority (over 50 %) in order to pass.
