Share the Plate Nominations Requested
Each month, UUCSW shares our Sunday collections equally with a non-profit organization that does work in the wider community that is aligned with our UU principles and values through our “Share the Plate” program. If you would like to nominate an organization as a future month's Share the Plate recipient, please submit your nomination using our Share the Plate Nomination Form. Our volunteer Share the Plate Review Board will thoughtfully consider all nominations. Thank you!
Racial Justice Committee Announcements
October 12th - Indigenous Peoples' Day instead of Columbus Day? The Town’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee supports having the Town change from celebrating Columbus Day to celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day. Official action lies with the Select Board who are unable to consider it in time for the 2020 holiday. The change aligns with our UU principles. To begin to understand this change – locally and nationally – you can learn more at these links, one from WickedLocal.com and one from NPR. Respectfully submitted by Jane Walsh of our Racial Justice Committee. Please contact her with questions or if you want to discuss the history, the problem or how to address change at janenboro@aol.com or 508-393-9206.
October 14th: Racial Justice Committee will meet from 4:00 to 5:30, via Zoom. All welcome! Join at: zoom.us/j/84599163211. Contact Jane Walsh with questions at janenboro@aol.com.
