Safari Sundays are happening this summer!
We are joining with neighboring UU churches on an adventure where each church will host a virtual service. We will connect with UU friends from Marlborough/Hudson, Northborough, Grafton, and Berlin. These services will begin at 10:00 am - more details to come...

Sunday, July 5th is the first Safari Sunday of the summer and UUCSW will be hosting! The service will begin at 10:00 but we will open the Zoom room at 9:30 to give folks a chance to visit before we get started. The theme for the service is "America the Beautiful." If you have a photo or two or a poem about a favorite place in this beautiful country of ours, please send it to Lisa Shumway. Thank you!
Racial Justice Committee Forming
A new UUCSW racial justice committee is forming. Please welcome and support Jane Walsh, who has stepped up as the chair of this committee. Several members have expressed an interest in being part of these efforts. Jane has adopted four pillars around which the committee activities on anti-racism will revolve: Learning, Voting, Volunteering, and Donating. Stay tuned for more information. Please contact Jane at janenboro@aol.com if you would like to join!
Socially Distanced Picnic July 12th!
The Membership Committee is hosting an event this summer. Please join us on Sunday July 12th at the Bay State Commons at 5:00 pm for a socially distanced picnic. Bring your own everything!
Blood Donors Needed
Throughout the summer months blood donations typically are low. Please consider donating blood through any of the following organizations to give the gift that is desperately needed and greatly appreciated. You can let others know of this opportunity to help others by email, phone call or any social media that you choose; spread the word! Most locations prefer appointments but some may have limited walk-in opportunities. Make a difference even on your vacation/staycation by finding a donor center near your happy place.

Congregational Food Drive
Please consider participating in a food drive to benefit the same program that we support through our meal packaging efforts from September to June. SMOC (South Middlesex Opportunity Council) provides lunches for homeless people in Worcester. At this time they are especially in need of:

  • 6-8 ounce juice boxes/pouches
  • fresh fruit especially apples, oranges/clementines, pears
  • 16 oz packages of bologna, thick slice pre-packaged

There will be a collection for these items on June 30th between 9:00 and 11:00 am and July 1st between 5:00 and 7:00 pm at UUCSW. Please reach out to Pauline at psciarappa@gmail.com if there's a better time for you. Food will be delivered to SMOC on July 2nd.

Hopefully we can do this again at the end of July/beginning of August to help SMOC provide for their homeless families.
