Upcoming Services at UUCSW
Solstice Pageant
Sunday, December 22nd at 10:30 am
Come join in this all ages service, as we explore the Pagan origins of many secular Christmas traditions! From Christmas trees to wreaths, we’ll tell the story of these symbols together. There will be no Religious Education today, as we’ll all be together in the Sanctuary.

Please note: the collection on Christmas Eve will be split between the Minister's Discretionary Fund and the Pastoral Counseling Centers (PCC), a local nonprofit organization. If you would like more information about PCC, click here .
Intergenerational Winter Potluck

Join us for an informal, intergenerational Winter Potluck on December 29th at 10:30 am in the Chapel to celebrate the new year ahead! Bring a poem or writing you’d like to share about the season or maybe the coming new year. Please sign up on SignUp Genius. Thank you!
This Week in Religious Education
This Sunday we invite all our children and those young at heart to join us in a Multigenerational Pageant Service! We will be learning about the Winter Solstice and we will hear from some very special furry friends who will teach us the beauty of our Christmas Tree! All are welcome to come and participate – no practice necessary!
New to UUCSW Class
January 12th and 26th, 12:00 to 1:30 pm
Are you new to UUCSW and/or Unitarian Universalism? Please join us for a two-session class designed to help answer questions about Unitarian Universalism and UUCSW. The class will cover topics such as: who are we and what do we believe, how does a UU congregation operate, and how can we engage in this community.

Please RSVP to Lisa Shumway at membership@uucsw.org. Let us know if you will need childcare and if you have any dietary restrictions.

A Special Request from the Membership Team
On behalf of the membership caring team, join us in helping Richard and Tanya Trainor provide a special Christmas for their five young children. They are looking for gift certificates for local experiences such as Sky Zone, Altitude, Urban Air, movie tickets, restaurants (Bertuccis, McDonalds, etc.), roller skating, bowling, Tower Hill, Claytime, Board and Brush, museums, etc. If you prefer that we do the shopping for you, contributions are welcome by mail, in the form of check (mailed to the UUCSW at Box 544) or in the weekly collection by check or cash in a small gift envelope with the note “Trainor family” on the memo line or envelope. Lisa Shumway will be collecting unwrapped gifts at church or by arrangement until December 22nd. Thank you in advance for your generosity. If you have questions, please contact Lisa Shumway at Membership@uucsw.org.
Snow Removal Volunteers Needed!
'Tis the season to be a good neighbor and keep our congregation, renters and greater community safe during a storm! We need volunteers to team up and help with the clearing of snow around our church building. We have a snowblower and shovels to support this task. (Lisa Shumway is willing to give lessons on how to use the snowblower to anyone not familiar with how to operate it, as well as where the key is kept for it.) Directions for areas that require clearing are posted on the Chapel bulletin board and at the Ruggles St. entrance. We have awesome team leads coordinating the sign-ups to ensure we are covered on weekdays (Mon-Fri) as well as weekends (Sat & Sun).

Coordinators Melissa and Matt Meehan have created the following SignUp Genius link for people to help as needed for snow removal on Saturdays and/or Sundays: Weekend Snow Removal Sign-Up

Coordinators Tim Nourse and Marge Fisher have created the following SignUp Genius link for people to help as needed for snow removal for Mondays through Fridays: Weekday Snow Removal Sign-Up

Sign up with a friend or family member and make the task lighter! It would be great to have both sheets filled in for this winter season as soon as possible to ensure we have any upcoming storms covered.

Thank you in advance for any time you can give to help in this important task!  - The UUCSW Board of Trustees
