HUNGER IN OUR COUNTRY
AND THE WORLD

The Pandemic has interrupted all sorts of services and products in the world. Our country is wealthier than most but we continue to have children dying of malnutrition every day. As we prepare
to have wonderful dinners with our families and friends, we can remember to share some of our resources with people who need them.

One of the most direct ways is to donate money so that food banks can purchase food at discount prices for the hungry people. Food donations are always accepted but monetary gifts go further.

We know that children need nutrients for their minds and bodies to develop. When not fed properly, illness is inevitable, and many times, death. When enough nutrients are not provided, brain
development and intellect suffers greatly. Children become handicapped mentally and need constant care. They don’t grow up like our kids, who will go to school and become independent. This is a serious problem.

Please give generously to the Danbury Food Pantry by clicking below. Click donate.
It’s easy!

You could also give money in our church collection or leave money in the mailbox for the office. Remember, $10.00 buys a good amount of food.

Another wonderful place to give is Lutheran World Hunger. This organization can funnel help to the most needy.
All money goes directly to the need, without cumbersome administrative costs. Please click below to donate.

We are truly grateful that you will support these responses because we have God’s work to do with our hands.

Peace and Love, in Thanksgiving for our comforts,

Nan Carlson and
Mary Weisensee

LETTER FROM COUNCIL

Last week, as we learned of Pastor’s retirement, the news brought forth mixed emotions and sentiments. We are excited for Pastor to move forward and experience new opportunities in his retirement with family and friends. We are sad because Pastor and Janet have been a tremendous source of light and joy in our congregation. We also may feel a bit uncertain, what is the next phase for Prince of Peace?

Please click below to see the full letter from Council.
Friday Night Live will be held on Friday, May 27th at 6:00 p.m. at the church.
