Prince of Peace

Weekly Update

March 5-12, 2025

Ash Wednesday Worship at Prince of Peace

Jesus means something for the whole of our lives, not just the parts that are attractive, easy, or celebratory. And often the most helpful starting place for such engagement is with prayer. To that end, you are invited to enter into the season of Lent and join us for worship on Ash Wednesday,

March 5.

Worship Times

12 p.m./ Noon - Meditative Service of the Word with Imposition of Ashes (no music)

6:30 p.m. - Holy Communion with Imposition of Ashes

Adult Study for the

Sundays in Lent

Beginning Sunday, March 16 join Pastor Michael during the Sundays in Lent exploring prayer as a Christian’s indispensable faith practice.

Sessions will begin at 11:30 a.m. following Sunday Assembly and time for community connecting during morning hospitality.

Lenten Simplicity

Lent is for taking stock of and letting go of everything that is not God. This doesn’t require a

step-by-step guide, but meditative prayer and silence.

To nurture this, throughout Lent at Prince of Peace we continue the common and longstanding practice of simplicity and reflection with a

community soup supper and Evening Prayer on Wednesday nights. All are welcome.

Join us for our Lenten Soup Supper and Evening Prayer beginning Wednesday, March 12.

6:30 p.m. Soup Supper

7:15 p.m. Evening Prayer

(Holden Evening Prayer)

Loaves & Fishes

Please consider volunteering your time.

Loaves & Fishes is a non-profit organization staffed by CT volunteers from local Churches and other citizens wanting to help feed the hungry. There are no paid staff. The program relies completely on donated funds, food, and volunteer staff to prepare and serve a 4:30 PM daily hot meal 7 days a week. Volunteers from Prince of Peace Church prepare and serve this meal every 2nd Sunday of each month.
