PENTECOST GERANIUMS

We will be having our red geranium garden for Pentecost (5/28). The donation of a geranium is a wonderful way to honor or memorialize someone. If you would like to contribute a plant(s), please fill out a form. The forms must be submitted by May 24th.

Do you have a favorite Hymn?

One of the things that the CAT survey brought to my attention was a desire for more favorite hymns to be included in worship. I'm sure all of us have at least one hymn that we enjoy and so with that question, this summer it is your turn ... your voice, your song.

The worship and music committee is requesting that you submit your favorite hymn online through the link below or fill out a request form and place it in the receptacle that can be found in the back of the Narthex, from now until the end of May.

You may submit more than one as we will collect all submissions and use those hymns as appropriate in the planning of our hymn selections during the summer months. Hymns are not limited to the ELW worship book. If you know one that is not in there, submit it as well and we will do our best to find it and we'll present something new.

Dear Members and Friends of Prince of Peace:

Summer is coming! The days are beautiful! Trees and flowers are blooming!

Children (and teachers) are counting down days until school is over; vacations are in the serious planning stages; graduations are being anticipated—in short, it’s a wonderful time of the year!

So let me offer an encouraging word about worship this summer.

Because of everything else going on, it’s easy to take a break from the worship-habit over the summer months. I totally understand that. But a habit that we fall out of is often harder to get back into again.

So continue to make worship a habit this summer. Sneak in five minutes late if you have to. Wear shorts and tank-tops if you want to. Yawn during the sermon. Just be a part of the family at Prince of Peace this summer. We miss you when you’re gone.

Looking forward to summer along with all of you…

Blessings and Peace,

Pastor Mark Grorud

Norwalk Community Chorale Concert

Dear Prince of Peace friends,

On June 11th, we will have our annual congregational meeting. At this meeting, we will be voting on the revised constitution, by-laws, and resolutions. The revision of the constitution was made to be aligned with the model constitution from Synod. The by-laws and resolutions have been revised with descriptions and processes of our committees.

Below you will find a link for the updated constitution, by-laws, and resolutions as well as a link for the noted revisions to the 1989 constitution.

Thank you,

Lorraine Lavery
