From the Principal's Desk
This week we celebrated , Read Across America Week, by enjoying the published works of Theodor Seuss Geisel. Dr Seuss, as many knew him, penned over 60 books. These timeless books, loved by people of all ages, have encouraged us all with their humorous and heartfelt story lines. His book, Oh the Places You'll Go!, which is referenced at graduations to this day, lets the reader know that success comes from within. Two of my favorite quotes from Seuss' works are "Don't cry because it is over. Smile because it happened." and "Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!" As we encourage our students to read every day and to find books that open up new worlds, expand their knowledge and their imaginations, we encourage you to enjoy these wonderful books with them as well. Whether you are reading aloud to your child, taking turns reading, listening to a great audio book on a road trip or even just reading books side by side, the benefits will be great for both of you.
Have a great weekend, and as Theodor Seuss Geisel says, "You're off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So...get on your way!"
