President Biden's Joint Address to Congress continued his empty inaugural promise of bipartisanship. The truth is, in his first 100 days, President Biden has outreached more to China and Iran than Republicans, and he has alienated half of the country by governing as the most Far-Left President in American history. Instead of addressing the crisis at our Southern border, President Biden supports amnesty for all. He proposed raising taxes, failed to support law enforcement, doubled down on radical environmental policies like canceling the Keystone Pipeline, and supported unconstitutional proposals to infringe on the Second Amendment. These are not bipartisan actions that will unify the country -- they are radical mandates from the Far-Left of the Democrat Party.
I am proud of my colleague and friend Senator Tim Scott for outlining an inspiring, conservative, and optimistic vision for America. He has truly lived the American Dream. Tonight, he presented a vision based on opportunity, empowerment, and freedom to uplift every American.

My strong and consistent record of standing up for the Second Amendment Rights of my constituents in the North Country has proudly earned me an A+ rating from the NRA, the highest of any member of the New York Delegation. I cannot overstate the importance of the Supreme Court’s consideration of this case for law-abiding gun owners in New York State, especially as Governor Cuomo, President Biden, and Democrats across the country continue to impose strict, unconstitutional gun control measures. The Constitution is clear – the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. I am hopeful the Supreme Court will rule in favor of that constitutional truth and protect the right of law-abiding New Yorkers and Americans to defend themselves, regardless of where they are.

Hosted a Telephone Townhall

On Wednesday, I hosted a telephone townhall to hear directly from the North Country about issues that are impacting our communities. We discussed COVID-19 relief, supporting small businesses and our local economies, protecting the 2nd amendment, supporting law enforcement, and much more. It is great to hear directly from my constituents and provide them with an update on my work in Congress!

Awarded for My Efforts to Prevent Child Abuse and Leadership to Fund the National Toll-Free Child Abuse Hotline
|
|
On Tuesday, in commemoration of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, I was presented with an award for my outstanding efforts to prevent and treat child abuse in Congress by Childhelp, a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse across the country. In January, I helped introduce H.R. 485 - The Stronger Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (Stronger CAPTA), which passed the House in March with broad, bipartisan support. I co-wrote a provision in the bill that will authorize the Department of Health and Human Services to award funding for the ongoing operation of a 24-hour, national, toll-free child abuse hotline to provide information and assistance to victims of child abuse or neglect, parents, caregivers, or concerned community members. I am honored that Childhelp recognized and awarded my legislative work to improve child welfare, particularly child abuse prevention and treatment, in Congress.
