CBPA Sponsored Legislation Aims To Streamline Processes

CBPA aims to take a proactive approach to solving challenges impacting the commercial real estate industry. In addition to advocating against harmful legislation, it's crucial for our industry to work to introduce solutions to the problems our members and industry face. This year, CBPA has partnered with two lawmakers to introduce legislation aimed at streamlining processes. You can review the bill summaries below. Private Permitting Review and Inspection Act AB 2433 (Quirk-Silva; D-La Palma) - This bill addresses the lengthy delays in the building permit process by introducing flexibility in fee structures, inspection timelines, and the conditional utilization of private professional services.

Demurrer Hearing Timetable

AB 3196 (Nguyen; D-Elk Grove) - This bill aims to enhance the efficiency of legal processes in commercial property disputes. By setting a definitive schedule for demurrer hearings, AB 3196 will reduce delays and financial hardships faced by small property owners and new small businesses.
